Other than the Portal from blank template that comes with sample pages that allows you to start from scratch, you can create portals from a template based on your needs.
Before you select one of the following templates, you have to make sure that your environment contains one of the customer engagement apps (Sales, FS, PSA...)
  • Community portal: This template is used to create forums, blogs and polls that will help you get the feedback through comments and ratings.
  • Customer self-service portal: This template is mainly used for case management to allow the customer to create/edit cases. In addition, they can have access to a support ressources to help solve their problems
  • Partner portal: This template will allow organizations with resellers or partners to manage the pipeline of the vendors and customers they work with and give access to every stage of shared activities.
  • Employee self-service portal: This template is mainly targeted to the internal staff to find solution/answer for a specific problem/quesiton by using Knowledge base articles
  • Customer Portal: This template allows companies to connect an externally facing B2B website to an associated Dynamics 365 for Supply Chain Management environment. It allows external users to create and view orders to the associated environment.
  • Field Service Portal: This template allows customers to book service appointments online without calling an agent where you need to have a Dynamics 365 Field Service version (8.8.30.103) or higher in your environment.
